Kevin Spacey's Emmys date: Who was that mystery man?

Sure, some people watch the Emmys to check out the fashion, but this year some viewers were more excited about discovering a fresh face in the crowd, especially when that fresh face happened to be sitting next to Kevin Spacey, one of Hollywood’s biggest actors.

The mystery man was not up for an award, but people on Twitter put on their amateur sleuth hats to figure out who he was.

Thanks to plenty of Twitter user clues, the mystery didn’t take long to solve. The man is Evan Lowenstein, the CEO of a company called Stageit, a “live streaming platform enabling artists to give their fans a front row seat to a backstage experience.”

The 42-year-old talent manager allegedly represents the House of Cards actor, and they’ve been spotted together on multiple occasions, including Day 2 of the 2016 U.S. Open on Aug. 30.

Lowenstein was once part of the boy band Evan and Jaron (from 1994 to 2004) with his twin brother. They had one hit single, Crazy For This Girl, and recorded three studio albums together. The boy band toured with an array of artists, including The Dixie Chicks and Maroon 5.

Spacey was nominated for Lead Actor, Drama for his role as Frank Underwood in House of Cards. He lost to first-time winner Rami Malek from Mr.Robot.

“Let’s party like it’s 1999… so I can be famous again,” Lowenstein’s Twitter bio reads.

Lowenstein is still performing these days, and apparently that hat is one of his major fashion statements.
