I’m very proud of my town for making it this far for such a worthy cause.
Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup – North Halton Twisters Semi-Finalist
The most meaningful trophy in hockey is back for another season of good deeds. Not your typical cup, this one is awarded to the Peewee team who has the best season off the ice. The North Halton Twisters made a commitment to give back to our community. With over hundreds of submissions from across Canada, the Twisters were named a Top 10 Semi-Finalist!
One of the key values for the North Halton Twisters is to support each other, on and off the ice. Keeping this in mind, the team decided to build together 50 gift bags of essentials for people who find themselves in need of support. These bags included various items, such as a toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo, soap, kleenex and a Tim Hortons’ gift card, among other items. The team chose to donate them to the McMaster Children’s Hospital Neo-Natal Unit as well as the Halton Women’s Centre. In addition, the Twisters partnered with Canadian Blood Services to hold various blood drives and brought in over 150 pints of blood!
By making it as a Semi-Finalist in the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup, the Twisters have won money for our local charities; McMaster Children’s Hospital, Halton Women’s Centre and Canadian Blood Services!
Now, we are asking for your support – to make it to the Top 3 in Canada, we need as many people as possible to view and share our Good Deeds Video (over and over!). The 3 videos with the most views will advance to the Good Deeds Cup Finals with a chance to win $15,000 for their charities.
Viewing/voting begins at 12:00:01 AM on Monday, January 15th until 11:59:59 PM on Sunday, January 28th. Please be sure to share the North Halton Twisters YouTube Video link with everyone that you know, and encourage everyone to watch it as many times as possible!
