#No Joke Screening and Q&A

The team behind the documentary #NoJoke are joining forces with the organization Abuse Hurts to hold a special event screening of the film on October 3rd at the Royal Cinema! There will be a Q&A with the filmmakers and special guests from Abuse Hurts immediately following the screening. Doors open at 6:30pm and show starts at 7pm sharp!

#NoJoke follows musician Andrew Cole as he puts together a star-studded cast for a song to combat bullying. Along the way he tracks down celebrities, experts, and ghosts from his own past to go beyond the tropes of today’s anti-bullying campaigns and get to the heart of the issue. One by one Andrew’s heroes come on board to lend their support: Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Roberts, Robbie Krieger, Steve Vai, Chad Smith, Lights, Patrick Stewart, Jane Lynch, and more.

Abuse Hurts is a national, charitable organization that has served Canadians since 1993. The Centre’s mandate is to significantly reduce the incidence and impact of abuse through education and public awareness. Abuse Hurts operates solely on private donations with no sustaining funds from any government body.

Abuse Hurts aims to raise awareness about the true cost of neglect and abuse and currently supports dozens of organizations nationally, including children’s services, victim’s services, shelters, and other agencies that deal with tens of thousands of children, women, and men whose lives have been affected by abuse. With help from the community and corporate partners, the Centre also provides access to support, healing and individual empowerment for adult survivors, their families, and caregivers.

Abuse Hurts is a source of courage, a catalyst for hope, and a leader of movement and change.
