Ongoing History Daily: Can loud music make you fat?
According to some outfit called Healthista, loud music might be making you fat. They point out things around the house that could cause you to eat more than you need to. Culprits include white plates, bright lights, transparent food wrapping–and music.
One experiment had one group of people in a normal fast-food restaurant listening to Miles Davis jazz and another listening to loud classic rock. The people eating to rock ate 18% more food—and they ate it faster.
Another thing: both bright fluorescent lights and very low light also made people eat more. Combine loud music with either environment or you see the problem.
Something to watch out for the next time you’re in a restaurant.
