One of the things that distinguished 90s alt-rock from today is how much harder, heavier, and intense the music was. Radio was filled with songs like this from Filter, a band led by one-time Nine Inch Nails member Richard Patrick. Hey Man Nice Shot was inspired by the true events surrounded the live-on-TV suicide of a Pennsylvania government official named R. Bud Dwyer (I’ll let you google the video.)
Fun fact: Richard Patrick was the brother of the guy who evil liquid metal robot in Terminator 2.
