Throwback Thursday: The Wonder Stuff and Unbearable (1988)

The Wonder Stuff is a wonderfully snotty and acerbic band that emerged from the English Midlands around 1986. This song first came into the radio station on a 12-inch import single and immediately became a hit with the staff because, well, it was snotty and acerbic. Unbearable later showed up on a 1988 album entitled The Eight-Legged Groove Machine.

The Stuffies’ original run ran until 1994, but after a few years off, they reformed in 2000 and continue today.

Fun Fact: Frontman Miles Hunt’s uncle, Bill, was a keyboard player with ELO back in the 70s. Another Fun fact: Their bass player had one of the best names in music. He was simply called “The Bass Thing.” Sadly, he died in 1993.
