Throwback Thursday: Filter and (Can't You) Trip Like I Do (1997)

The alt-rock of the 90s was generally a lot harder than what we have today. Among bands like Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Stabbing Westward, and many others, we had Filter. The group featured one-time NIN keyboardist Richard Patrick who had a few hits in those days.

(Can’t You) Trip Like I Do first appeared after a friend of the songwriter left a bunch of voicemails while on ecstasy, saying “I wish you could trip like I do.” The song itself is a reworking of the Chemical Brothers’ Trip Like I Do and was used for the end credits of the movie Spawn. You might also remember it from the end credits for The Matrix.
