Ongoing History Daily: A weird rock'n'roll kangaroo story

Status Quo has been a big band in the UK since the 70s and is still going. With that kind of history, you’d be right to assume that they have all kinds of tales to tell.

During a tour of Australia, the Status Quo tour bus hit a kangaroo. The driver stopped, and everyone piled out of the bus to inspect the damage. The kangaroo was a goner, but since this was rock’n’roll, the band decided to dress it up in a tour t-shirt, a Status Quo jacket, and sunglasses. The poor thing was propped up against the side of the bus for a few photos.

However, the ‘roo wasn’t dead. It was just stunned. When it came too, it shook its head and jumped off into the desert. If that wasn’t funny enough, the jacket the kangaroo was wearing belonged to the bus driver, and the keys to the bus were in its pocket.

History does not record how Status Quo managed to get to their next gig.
