About a decade ago, Eddie Vedder was out boating with some friends in the Pailolo Channel off the coast of Maui when their craft overturned, leaving Eddie and two women stranded. They were rescued by Ashley Baxter and her father, Keith. Eddie was forever grateful.
Fast-forward to Christmas 2016. Keith had a terrible boating accident, which involved nearly slicing his leg off at the calf, followed by a bad infection.
