Ongoing History Daily: The heavy metal church

Metal and hard rock have long been considered the devil’s music, but one church in metal-crazy Brazil would beg to differ. The Crash Church is began in a large garage in Sao Paulo and was overseen by pastor Antonio Carlos Batista. He used the gospel of heavy metal to spread, well, the Gospel. He co-founded the church back in 1998 after he says he received a message from God who asked his help in converting rockers to Christianity.

Crash Church survives on donations, some of which goes to supporting tours of a band called Antidemon. And Pastor Batista claims much success in bringing former anti-religionists and devil worshippers into the fold. There are now at least five Crash Churches across Brazil.

I wonder what the hymn book looks like? Are all their sabbaths black?
