2026 Golden Globes nominations list: 'One Battle After Another' dominates

WATCH: Golden Globes 2026: 'One Battle After Another', 'Frankenstein', 'Adolescence' dominate nominations

The 2026 Golden Globe Awards nominees were announced on Monday morning, honouring the year’s best in film and TV.

The awards are split into the genres of comedy (or musical) and drama.

Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall announced the nominees from Beverly Hills, kicking off awards season.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another scored a leading nine nominations; One Battle After Another landed nominations for its cast — Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn and Chase Infiniti — along with nods for Anderson’s screenplay and direction.

Close on its heels was Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value, a Norwegian family drama about a filmmaking family. The film’s eight nominations included nods for four of its actors: Stellan Skarsgård, Renate Reinsve, Elle Fanning and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas.

Canadians are making a strong showing in this year’s Golden Globe nominations with Korean-Canadian director Maggie Kang earning a nod for best animated feature for her debut film KPop Demon Hunters. She’ll compete against Toronto’s Domee Shi, who co-directed the fantasy adventure film Elio.

The glitzy awards ceremony will be held Jan. 11 and will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+. After a well-reviewed emcee debut last year, comedian Nikki Glaser will be back to host the 2026 event.

The Golden Globes previously announced the winners of two prestigious honours: Helen Mirren will receive the 2026 Cecil B. DeMille Award and Sarah Jessica Parker was named as the recipient of the Carol Burnett Award for her “outstanding contributions to television on or off screen.”

This time, the award will be presented during a new annual prime time special, Golden Eve, honouring recipients of both the DeMille Award and the Carol Burnett Award, which honours achievement in television. That special will air Jan. 8 on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

The 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards will take place on Jan. 11, 2024, at 8 p.m. E.T.
