If you love Rock ‘n’ Roll, then there is no doubt that you were at Budweiser Stage for the Hyper Space Tour featuring Joan Jett and the Blackhearts as well as classic rock legends, Boston, this past Tuesday night.
Bringing the same level of attitude she has had throughout her 40+ year long career, the fun loving pop punk goddess, Joan Jett, took to the stage for an ecstatic Toronto audience. With a stage presence like no other, her confidence was contagious and she had the whole venue out of their seats as soon as her feet hit the stage. Busting out classic Runaways‘ hits like “Cherry Bomb” and solo successes like “Bad Reputation”, the crowd was filled with a rebellious energy that made it feel like one of those warm summer nights where anything was possible.
Adding to the fun were headliners, Boston, with a psychedelic stage set up and tunes to match. The guys took us to outer space and right back home, even playing a rock ‘n’ roll cover of “O Canada” in place of their usual “Star Spangled Banner/4th of July Reprise”. Of course, a Boston show would not be complete without favorites like “Peace of Mind” and “Amanda”, but an obvious high point of the evening was thousands of fans trying to hit the high notes as they belted out “More Than a Feeling” in perfect time.
A definite night to remember with songs we will never forget, the Hyper Space Tour left us “Feelin’ Satisfied” and dancing our way out to the street.
