Ongoing History Daily: The losers in the Oasis reunion

The biggest music story of the year is the reunion of Oasis and next year’s big tour. Liam and Noel Gallagher are essential to this, of course. But what about some of the other people who have been in Oasis over the years?

One person who will not be part of the reunion is original drummer Tony McCarroll, the guy who played on Definitely Maybe, the band’s debut album. He was then fired in rather dramatic fashion by Noel Gallagher a year later. Tony later sued for royalties but waited too long to file legal action, so he ended up with a £550,000 settlement. So, what’s Tony been doing? Podcasts, public speaking, and meet-n-greets. He also has his own Oasis merch store, selling rare photos of his time in the band.

He’s doing okay, but given that the reunion is expected to be worth £400 million…
