Mogwai, the four-piece post-rock band from Glasgow (est. 1995), is a rare thing: They prefer instrumentals. Through ten studio albums, Mogwai has offered up some interesting and challenging music that, for the most part, is consistently accessible. This time, however, there are lyrics. And they’re provided by the seven-year-old daughter of guitarist Barry Burns. Why did she get a shot? Because Burns was suffering from writers’ block.
This is the first new material from Mogwai in a couple of years.
