This year, we’ve all had a glimpse of what it feels like to wait for hope. For children with critical illnesses Make-A-Wish® serves, feelings of isolation and hopelessness are all too familiar. Wish children and their families have been finding hope in challenging times long before any of us heard the word “lockdown.”
And that is why, this Spring/Summer Fearless Fred is participating in the Make-A-Wish® Trailblaze for Wishes: a 10-week virtual challenge asking us to hike, walk, run or just get active your chosen distance at your pace. With thousands of wishes delayed due to the pandemic, this is our opportunity, our chance, to be a trailblazer and create hope!
Rather than doing a hike, walk or run, Fearless Fred will be doing 100 sit ups, 100 squats, and 100 push ups EVERY DAY for the next ten weeks! That’s SEVEN THOUSAND of each by the time the ten weeks is up!
This year, Fearless Fred is joining with Team #irongabe! Gabe and Fred met at the 2019 Heroes Challenge. It was here that we saw his superhero strength (the same power and perseverance he put into his three and a half years of cancer treatment) and learnt about the ways he was giving back to various charities. It is in meeting Gabe that Fearless Fred continues to want to be a trailblazer and help grant wishes.
